Activity idea: Vous passez une année à l’Université de Montréal. Cherchez une chambre ou un appartement à louer près de l’Université. Décrivez l’équipement et le prix. Comment allez-vous à l’Université (en autobus? Métro? Vélo?). Décrivez le quartier et pourquoi vous avez sélectionné votre choix.
Contexte 3 : Les loisirs et le sport Le hockey
Teacher’s note : Great sports film with love story that also delves into francophone and anglophone identity and tensions in 1940s and 50s Montréal. Some violence and blood during the hockey scenes but my students loved it and the boys especially were appreciative of the sports theme. We used the subtitles in English. Teacher’s note/activity ideas: This is a great introduction to Quebec City and some of its surrounding areas in the winter. The video is professionally done with no words (only music) and activity ideas for students range simply from describing what there is to do in the area to providing a voice-over guide or tying in advanced grammar like si-clauses or the conditional tense. *The very first and last few seconds show people clinking glasses (of alcohol) so feel free to abridge what you show.
